Gratitude.

Dear Dad,

Yesterday was my birthday and although you weren’t there – or, at least, I couldn’t see you there – I want to say thank you.

You and Mom gave me the best gift I could get for my birthday, which is the gift of life. I finally feel, at the start of my 28th year, that my life truly IS a gift, and one that I intend to use to its fullest capacity.

I am blessed with so many people who love me, and it is you and Mom who taught me what it means to feel loved. So thank you. Thank you for your love, and thank you for teaching me never to settle for less than love.

I will always love you.

Yours always,
Caitlin
